Yemen - A Country In Crisis, In Need of a Brighter Future

A decade of conflict has caused widespread internal displacement and severe food insecurities across the nation.

Yemen Crisis

The crisis in Yemen marks its tenth year, symbolising nearly a decade of extensive harm to the economy, physical infrastructure, and service delivery. The children of Yemen face a multitude of challenges, including armed conflict, abuse, diseases, malnutrition, drought, and poverty, among others. Additionally, they are denied access to education, which is the most significant shield in their fight for survival.

Our ‘Emergency Multi-Educational Programme’ offers a critically needed route to childhood education and access to essential water, sanitation, and hygiene facilities.

Yemen Breakfast Club:

Amid Yemen’s crisis, around 17 million people face hunger, and over 2 million children under five suffer from acute malnutrition. Nearly a third of all families have gaps in their diets and rarely have access to pulses, vegetables, fruit, dairy, or meat.

READ Foundation’s Breakfast Club addresses critical food insecurity while keeping children in school.

As well as promoting health, we enhance access to education, particularly for marginalised girls. For many children in Yemen, their unfortunate circumstances force them onto the streets to beg or look for work to feed themselves and their families, keeping them away from the classroom.

Your generosity will help us combat hunger and educational inequality, one breakfast at a time.
