Rolling Education into Refugee Camps

Many refugee children and their families fleeing conflict have found shelter in Lebanon’s refugee camps. Living in dire conditions, these families lack basic necessities – including education, a fundamental right for every child. Tragically, many of these young refugees have never set foot in a classroom. READ Foundation’s School in a Bus project addresses this crisis by bringing education directly to them. Our mobile classrooms drive through the Beqaa Valley, reaching children within the camps. These innovative buses bring education and hope, empowering refugee children to build brighter futures.

Our School in a Bus brings education to refugee children in Lebanon's camps.

Our mobile classrooms cater to diverse educational needs. We offer early childhood education for 3-5 year-olds, building foundational skills for formal schooling. Children aged 6-14 receive basic numeracy and literacy classes, bridging knowledge gaps. Young women (16-26) benefit from life skills training, including cooking and sewing. All students receive crucial psychosocial support, helping them process trauma. Our trained teachers specialise in conflict-zone education, ensuring sensitive and effective learning.

Your support drives education forward, giving refugee children a chance to thrive.

Our project provides crucial education, life skills, vocational training, and vital psychosocial support to a generation affected by conflict. Without this intervention, many refugee children would miss out on learning, hindering their future prospects and the development of their communities. By bringing classrooms to camps, we nurture hope, heal trauma, and build foundations for a brighter tomorrow. Our mobile schools are key to breaking the cycle of poverty. With your help, we can continue empowering these resilient young minds, transforming lives one lesson at a time.
