> Read on Wheels – Mobile Libraries

Ever wanted to share a great book?

With our ‘Read on Wheels’ programme we want to help disadvantaged children, deprived of education and with little access to books, to discover the gateway to their future.

Many of these children live in remote, rural communities or refugee camps. They have low levels of literacy and no experience or exposure to a culture of reading. They sadly grow up in a childhood that has not been enriched by story books. This is due to both a lack of resources, as well as a lack of nurturing, in this direction.

We want to encourage these children to dream big and achieve well.

> How you can help

Our ‘Read on Wheels’ programme is now implemented in Lebanon, Yemen and Turkey. It aims to provide easy access to books and encourage education and imagination, through reading. There are a variety of cultural, social, historical and entertainment books, to provide children with more opportunities to read and learn.

An annual payment of £360 could offer a child the opportunity to improve their reading and literacy skills in an engaging and creative setting.

A monthly instalment of £30 could support a child’s access to a mobile library.
