Street children, are children that have been subject to sleeping rough on the streets, causing them to fall into drugs, sexual exploitation and child labour. These are children without protection, vulnerable and alone. We work to provide these children with a safe space where they can escape these cruelties. 

Bangladesh 

There are over 600,000 street children in Bangladesh, with 75% living below the poverty line. READ, along with a partner organisation, runs two drop-in centres in Bangladesh, working to empower the disadvantaged. Rizwan Husssain , who works for READ Foundation, explains:

“Since March 2015 the situation has got worse… essential goods, such as food, have more than doubled in price…” 

For children across the country, finding their next meal is a growing challenge.

Our Response
