Warming Hearts and Inspiring Minds
Safwan inb Salim (ra) went out on a cold night in Madinah near the masjid, and he saw a man with little clothes on. He took off his coat and covered him up. One of the people of Sham saw in his dream that Safwan ibn Salim (ra) had entered Paradise wearing that which he had clothed him with. (Lata’if al-Ma’arif)
For many of us in the UK, this winter will be a struggle to heat our homes due to the cost-of-living crisis. Yet, spare a thought for the vulnerable children all over the world who have even less to protect them from the harsh winter. They have little or no winter clothing, heating in their homes (or tents), or even access to hot food.
The sub-zero temperatures of winter make the violence, conflict, abuse, displacement and poverty they suffer, now a question of survival!
We believe that education is the sustainable route out of poverty. But right now, we also need to ensure these children survive the winter.
Alongside our provision of education and learning materials, we will be delivering winter kits for vulnerable children and their families in Pakistan, Lebanon, Turkey and Yemen, ensuring that households have warm clothing, coats, blankets, essential heating and fuel and essential food packs.
Together with your support, we can help refugee children and rural communities brave the winter. Be that friendly hand. Warm the hearts and inspire the minds of these vulnerable children.
Your kind act can warm the winter months.
