Your Zakat Becomes Their First Lesson
This Ramadan, your Zakat opens doors that have stayed shut for too long. Across Pakistan, Yemen, Gaza, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Türkiye, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and Malawi, children are ready to learn. They have the potential and determination. What’s missing? The classroom. The books. The beginning. Your Zakat gives them that sacred start, and everything changes from there.
What is Nisab?
Nisab is the minimum amount of wealth you need to own before Zakat becomes obligatory. Think of it as the threshold. If your assets (savings, gold, silver, investments) meet or exceed the Nisab for one lunar year, you are obliged to pay 2.5% in Zakat. The Nisab is based on the value of either 87.48 grams of gold or 612.36 grams of silver.
Have Questions? Our Scholar Can Help
Zakat calculations can feel complicated. What counts as wealth? How do you value assets? Our qualified scholars are here to guide you. Reach out anytime.
How To Calculate Your Zakat
Start with what you own. Add up your savings, gold, silver, and investments. Subtract any immediate debts you owe. What’s left? That’s your Zakatable wealth. If it meets or exceeds the Nisab threshold and you’ve held it for a full lunar year, multiply by 2.5%. That’s your Zakat.
Still unsure? Use our Zakat calculator or speak with our scholars. When your Zakat reaches READ Foundation, it becomes a child’s first step towards education and a bright future.
