Scholarships enable opportunities for orphans

While nothing can replace a lost parent, scholarships can create an opportunity for an orphan child to go to school, make new friends, and become educated. Getting an education is a permanent solution to extreme poverty particularly the kind many orphans face every day. The scholarship ensures that orphan children are able to access the same level of schooling as those whose families can afford to.

Each scholarship provides an orphan child with

School Fees

The school’s fees are paid in full giving the orphan child the opportunity to go to school, learn knowledge, make friends and be themselves again.

Textbooks & Stationery

A backpack is provided, containing notebook, pens, pencils, colouring pens, eraser, pencil sharpener, geometry set, and textbooks.

School Uniform

The child is given full uniform, including a jumper, two shirts, pair of trousers, and two pairs of sturdy shoes, to get them through the year.

Living Costs

A monthly stipend is provided to the guardian of the orphan to help them fulfil the needs of their child that arise even outside of school.

Scholarship provides a route into school for orphan girls

Education is a fundamental right for everyone. This is even more so the case for girls as study after study shows that an education protects from maternal death and reduces child mortality, amongst a whole host of other benefits.

Get involved – sponsor an orphan child

Join our elite group of orphan sponsors by providing a full scholarship to an orphan child. This is a group of people that understand that as well as an education and financial support, they’re giving an orphan child hope and a pathway to a brighter future, while sending them a crucial message – that they matter.

Sponsoring an orphan for many sponsors is an immensely satisfying experience particularly where they witness the child’s growth and development in maturity over the course of the progress reports received. You can achieve the same by sponsoring an orphan child’s scholarship in one of the following two ways.
