READ Deployments is an immersive volunteer experience designed for people who want to create meaningful impact through education. As a Global READer, you’ll raise funds to support life-changing educational projects before travelling to Pakistan to see the impact firsthand. During your deployment, you’ll visit READ schools, engage with local communities and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing children in remote regions.

Important Travel Information
Deployment Dates
23rd October – 1st November 2026
Participants are responsible for arranging their own international travel and visas.
Arrival Information
You must arrive to Islamabad International Airport on or before 24th October 2026. If you are arriving earlier than the 24th of October, you will need to arrange and cover your own accommodation.

Meals during the programme
What’s Not Included During the Trip
Volunteers are responsible for:
Arranging international travel into and out of Pakistan.
Visa organisation and costs
Personal spending such as snacks, gifts and additional purchases
Any accommodation required before 24th October
Participants should arrange return flights departing on either 30th or 31st of October 2026.
Your return journey should ensure arrival back into the UK no later than 1st November 2026, unless delays occur. Participants are welcome to stay longer at their own cost.

This experience gives you the opportunity to explore one of the world’s most beautiful regions while making a direct impact through education. You’ll witness READ Foundation’s work firsthand, meet inspiring communities and return home with a deeper understanding of the power of education to transform lives.
The deployment runs from 23rd October to 1st November 2026, including travel. The core programme activities begin on 24th October.
Our team will support you throughout your fundraising journey with resources, ideas, guidance and regular check-ins to help you reach your £5,000 target.
The £350 deposit secures your place on the deployment and contributes towards your overall fundraising target.
No previous experience is required. We welcome anyone who is passionate about education and making a positive impact. We’ll provide the necessary training before you travel.
You’ll travel alongside a group of like-minded volunteers and experienced READ Foundation team members, creating meaningful friendships and shared memories along the way.
Participants are responsible for arranging and paying for their own international flights, visas and personal spending.
Northern Pakistan in late October can be cold, especially in the evenings. Expected temperatures can reach approximately 9°C during the day and drop between -3°C and -7°C at night. We recommend bringing warm layers, jackets, shawls, thick socks and suitable winter clothing.
