The Situation in Gaza
Gaza is currently facing a dire humanitarian crisis, with families having their lives turned upside down due to ongoing bombardment and violence. Displacement, damage to infrastructure and disruption to essential services have left children with extreme trauma and prolonged stress. More than 90% of schools and universities have been destroyed, taking away a vital source of safety and support during uncertain times.
READ Foundation delivers Temporary Learning Centres in areas where children are displaced or unable to access formal education. They become spaces of learning, stability and safety, where children can receive regular meals and much needed mental health support to help them toward long-term recovery.

Education ensures that children are given the tools to support long-term recovery after extremely traumatic events. Without access to safe spaces, children’s emotional wellbeing and development can be severely impacted.
Temporary Learning Centres protects children and restores routine, giving them the space and support to heal. Our holistic approach centres around psychosocial support so children in Gaza can resume their education and regain their sense of normalcy.
