During times of crisis, children often became more vulnerable to abuse and exploitation. Dana and Samar were sadly victims of domestic violence, and their trauma was compounded by repeated displacement, giving them no sense of safety or stability.

Thanks to the support of READ Foundations Psychosocial Support Sessions, Dana and Samar have found a sense of purpose and hope again. Through these sessions, the two discovered their love of singing and drawing and have been using these creative outlets to help other children, teaching them their coping techniques. This has helped them to rebuild their confidence and self-esteem after abuse.

“Here I feel that I am a human being of value,” says one of the children.
