Atiqa’s world changed forever when her father passed away. Her mother worked relentlessly to keep the family going, often borrowing money to make ends meet. Despite the hard days, Atiqa’s dream to become a doctor never faltered.
READ Foundation covered Atiqa’s education from school all the way to medical college. Her younger sister and elder brother also received support, lifting a heavy burden from the family.
With determination and consistent help, Atiqa excelled. She secured 7th position in the board exams across all of Kashmir.
Today, she is in her fourth year of MBBS at AJK Medical College, Muzaffarabad. The girl from the quiet village of Chak Barmang is now on her way to becoming the doctor she always dreamed of being.
