Campaigns – Winter Campaign – Single
Thousands of UK homes are ready for this winter. Our wardrobes are ready for winter, even our cars are ready. For some winter is fun, for others, it’s life threatening. This year’s winter campaign is aimed at helping orphan children survive the bitter cold.
Hundreds of orphan children, across the mountainous regions of Pakistan, navigate difficult terrain everyday to attend a READ Foundation school. Winter brings sub-zero temperatures and snow, turning the journey to school dangerous. Even life threatening for some. Every day is an anxious wait for the widowed mothers of these children, wanting nothing more than for their children to return home safe.
The problem for the children is keeping warm. They don’t have the clothing needed to protect them from the brutal cold. They’ve either grown out of the clothes donated to them during last year’s winter campaign, or they are torn or damaged and therefore no longer fit for purpose.
Help orphan children survive this winter
A donation of £30 can provide an orphan child with a winter clothing pack containing a coat, hat, scarf, gloves and shoes. This helps protect against cold weather related health conditions such as hypothermia and pneumonia, that are a common threat to orphan children living in poverty.
Please support our Winter Campaign. Together we can help an orphan child survive the winter. Your donation will make all the difference in the lives of orphan children.

We delve into this deeper and examine the affect that the cold temperature has on a child’s physical state. We look at the potential impact of the cold on the child’s mental ability and their level of achievement in school.
