Your Impact This Ramadan

We are incredibly grateful and humbled by the amount of generosity and care we have seen from supporters this Ramadan. From ensuring learning continues during emergencies in Gaza and Lebanon, to spreading joy to children in Yemen and Pakistan on Eid, your commitment is helping to improve the lives of children around the world.

With your support, have distributed thousands of hot meals and emergency kits, provided mental health support for children experiencing unimaginable trauma, and helped them to continue their education no matter the circumstances.

Thanks to you, children across the world are given an opportunity to build their future, providing stability, safety and hope.

Your Zakat in Action

Through your Zakat, you are helping to bring learning to children whose access to education are often very limited.

Mobile classrooms such as School in a Bus and School on a Boat are bringing education to some of the hardest to reach places in Lebanon and Bangladesh. While our Community Based Learning Spaces and Special Needs Education Hub are creating inclusive education, so every child has the opportunity to learn.

Your Zakat is having a direct impact on the lives of thousands of children everyday. From remote regions of Pakistan to conflict areas in Gaza, we are building brand new schools, setting up safe spaces for children in crisis and supporting children to learn, grow and thrive.

Your Impact During Ramadan

We distributed 1,190 Ramadan hampers across Aden and Taiz, supporting both their spiritual and educational growth. Each hamper was filled with various Ramadan essentials, such as prayer mats, food for iftar, and activity books to help children understand the importance of Ramadan.

The School Meals programme provided hot meals to 750 children in Gaza, and another 750 students in Yemen are receiving breakfast, helping children to be more active and engaged in class. By providing children in crisis zones with a nutritious meal, we are breaking down one of the biggest barriers to education they experience.

Thanks to our supporters, we were able to donate 536 gifts this Eid to vulnerable children across Pakistan and Yemen. These included children displaced by crisis and children living with disabilities, ensuring that they were not left behind.

We currently have over 6,000 sponsored children in Pakistan, 650 were newly sponsored during Ramadan, as well as 186 children in Yemen, opening doors for children to build a brighter future and uplift more families and communities.

Events and Community Engagement

Our community is the heart of everything we do, and we were incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to connect and share with so many dedicated supporters across the country.

Throughout Ramadan, READ’s Donor Care team supported you with clarity and transparency, ensuring every donation was understood and every supporter felt confident and valued.

From the Every Lesson Begins with Bismillah tour in Manchester and London to Jummah collections across key mosques, we came together to raise vital funds for children’s education in Gaza.

Through partnerships with Ramadan Kids, Qalam Network and The Fajr Club, we engaged communities nationwide, raising funds, building awareness, and creating safe, educational futures for children in crisis.

Thank you to everyone who attended events, donated, and fundraised for vital campaigns.

Lebanon Crisis

Sadly, this years Ramadan was marred by the escalation of violence across the Middle East, putting millions of children at an even greater risk. Lebanon, which has already been experiencing years of instability, have been the target of constant bombardment, placing strain on an already fragile system.

Learning has been put on hold as many schools around the nation have been turned into emergency shelters to meet the ever-growing need. We have seen it countless times before, education is often the first thing to be disrupted and the hardest to restore.

READ has been working in Lebanon since 2020, creating safe spaces for children and young people in times of immense hardship. Our School in a Bus programme is more than just a classroom, it is a vital source of support, where children can feel safe and have much need stability.

During Ramadan, we increased our emergency response to provide support for refugee families in Lebanon. 200 families were able to receive vital food pack and hygiene kits, with 1,800 more food packs to be distributed as a part of emergency support. 72 school lunches were provided through the school in a Bus programme, as well as 200 children received clothing vouchers.

Thank-you for Your Support This Ramadan

We are grateful for the support and passion we have receive from our wonderful donors, during Ramadan and beyond. Thanks to you, we are able to continue vital work in upholding the fundamental right to education every child has.

But education doesn’t sit alone. Through our programmes, we are able to provide support beyond learning, ensuring children have access to food, quality facilities and nurturing spaces, so every child can have the childhood they deserve.

Without our wonderful donor, we would not be able to reach the thousands of children utilising our services.

Jazakallahu Khair.
