School Meals
School Meals
Fuelling Bright Futures
Without a proper meal, it can be impossible to learn and concentrate in school. Hunger takes away the energy they need, and the stress of if they will eat that day distracts their minds. Providing a child with breakfast ensures that children in crisis zones, such as Yemen, Lebanon and Gaza, have access to a nutritious meal, giving them a strong foundation to begin their day of learning. Parents are encouraged to send their children to school, knowing their child will be fed, lessening some of the stress of affording food.
Breaking down barriers preventing children in
crisis zones from going to
school.
Every child deserves a quality education, but that can’t be achieved without proper nutrition. Well-nourished students can concentrate better and have higher energy levels, allowing them to be active and engaging in class.
The School Meals programme encourages students to continue their education and giving them the best chance in life. By addressing hunger, we are removing one of the biggest barriers to accessing education, helping children on a path out of poverty.
This benefit extends beyond the child, providing relief to the whole family. With one less mouth to feed, families can allocate limited funds to other critical needs.
